Online Collaboration Tools

Thanks to Seth Godin I've become aware of two online collaboration tools I didn't know about. I've worked with WebEx and LiveMeeting but it is always good to know what other options are available. The two new ones I just learned about are Dimdim, which is currently free, and yackpack, which is free right now but they expect to implement a subscription rate later in 2008. I haven't tried either yet (hey, I just learned about them today). But plan to try them out and let you know how they worked.

With today's gas prices and all the things being implemented by the airlines, I believe online collaboration will become a valuable alternative to traveling.

More on this to come....

My admiration for Seth Godin

I have recently become aware of Seth Godin. I started following his blog in the last few months. I have his meatballs book an it is on my "to read" list. Anyhow, his ideas and thought provoking blogs will probably be the focus of many of my blogs to come. He makes me think. He makes me examine the idea "But we have always done it that way".

On March 18, Seth's blog post asked "Why bother having a resume?" He went on to say "Great people shouldn't have a resume".

I think this is one of those behaviors that fall into the concept "But we have always done it that way." I was laid off in July 2007 and the resume seems to be what folks want to see. I'm going to wrap my head around this idea and explore it. I'd like to make it happen for me.

I don't need a resume. Now I just have to figure out how to illustrate that I am remarkable!!!

Wish me luck.
